I watched it up until 12 or 13. After that, I lost interest. *shrug* I hear it's gotten really good, but I've never followed up. I get really tired of ERMAHGERD SLEDORMAN!
Agreed, when I first watched it I found it genuinely scary when Slendy appeared but now it's just not as scary because you always know when he's going to pop up due to the audio distortion and watnot. And he always does the same thing (standing and watching), most of the time.

That would be a very bad idea. At the end of the day, it's still about a story, and skipping a majority of the videos that exist would leave you clueless and unfulfilled.

Shit's been getting interesting lately.
Well set up scares aside, I'm genuinely curious as to what's going on at this point. ISOLATION had a fuck ton of clues, most notably the implications that the barn Jay woke up in is familiar to Tim, and WHEREISHE turning into WHEREISSHE at the right moments.
The way I see it, we've got at least three independent parties working. Jay, allied with nobody, Tim/Masky, possibly linked to totheark although highly unlikely after OBSERVATION, the hooded man, who at this point I postulate is probably female and most definitely totheark's main member if it's not just exclusively him/her, and somewhere far away at this point Alex, allied with the operator presumably, or at least being controlled by it.
Beyond figuring out their motivations, we've got Jessica's involvement to figure out, the actual nature of the happenings in general, and any connection they might have to Rosswood/the cast of Hornets in general.
After how great the past few episodes have been, I'm actually pretty excited to see how it all pans out.

Well, this has rounded out nicely. That fucking 65/66, man. Especially that footage from after Troy abandoned Tim. Jesus.
Seriously though, I didn't see that side of Tim's story coming. I feel like the situation as a whole has evolved really well, although I'm still feeling a lack of motivation in this season. In season one, there's the definite factor of "Where's Alex", and in season two to even figure out where he is and what's going on, but there isn't a lot driving season three in an overarcing way other than "I guess we should figure this shit out, it's pretty fucking weird". I have no clue where we're headed, but I'm still really happy with how it's played out, the quality of the scares, etc. Tim's actor is getting a lot better, too, he actually feels like the character he's playing.
New RP in progress. It's too late to join, but voting regarding winners of each chapter will be open to all TT participants, so feel free to read along.

It's pretty great, IMO. They hit their stride of making it as tense as possible as far as you sitting there freaking out every time the camera turns to look at something you couldn't see before in case something's there. There's an episode involving an old maintenance tunnel that was legitimately one of the scariest things I saw last year.
The story is also actually coming together instead of floundering around, and like I mentioned, the acting is actually not terrible now.

I stopped watching when I realized that every episode is a bunch of nothing followed by a brief encounter with Masky and/or Slenderman. There were some parts that showed promise, then...back to the routine. It needs more payoff. Not sure when I gave it up, but it was while Jay was looking for his friend or something.

You mean, the very beginning? That's pretty much the first thing that happens in the whole show, a big titlecard shows up to tell you Jay is looking for Alex.
Anyway, the actual encounters are like, only really one episode in every five or six. Everything else is story, lore building, general moving about, that sort of thing. There really aren't any "jump" scares, in that if something shows up, it tends to be really unannounced, to the point where it almost feels understated. Tim moves his head back, you see that blank face in the alleyway behind them, Alex drives away sounding spooked, that sort of thing. Not for everyone, but I like the way they put everything together. It's really economical, I guess? Everything is delivered in the chunks you need to understand, but it still feels like it's been expanded upon enough when the time comes to look back on what you know. The only real entry that I felt started to give you too much blank air was one of the later/maybe the last visit to the house in season one, and even then they did a great job keeping the tension on a constant rise instead of it just being stumbling in the dark. Works both as an ARG, and just as short film in a standalone way.
The only thing you've said that I'll really outright disagree with is the notion that they have a routine. Even in season one, it's a really erratically mapped show, and every season since then has done a great job of entirely changing the format/style/pace without making it feel like a different show or a shark being jumped or what have you.

Yeah, and they ended up recycling that plot later on. It was after Jay met that chick (Jessica?) and...honestly, it bored me so much that I've already forgotten most of the real details. It's not very good, is what I'm saying.
